Flowers could be the easiest to photograph, but I am unable to ignore their beauty. Here are some flowers of Kerala for you.

In the photography world, capturing flowers is considered as child's play, and at the same time it is very difficult to ignore them. Here are some of my flower photographs, captured in and around kochi. Some of them are captured using my canon DSLR, where as the others are with my lumix fz200, which gives  an aperture of 2.6 across the full zoom range, which makes it easy to get that blurred  background effect. I never went out to photograph flowers. I captured these flowers as and when they captured my attention, Nd I clicked them with whatever camera I had at that time. Hope you are enjoying them, and will like it. Good day.

Another sun sets..

A walk through Marine drive, kochi, with my camera and tripod

After experimenting with my new lumix camera for a while, the urge for some serious slow shutter photography led me to the new marine drive (the term new is very relative), because it is within the city itself. A great place to spend an evening with some brisk walking or running, enjoying the sea breeze, the beautiful view of the kochi harbour, the abandoned boat on the far end of the marine drive, great sunsets and an ideal place for photography during the golden hour. Since I went there on a week day, the place was not crowded, but on weekends, the situation could be different. If you are going there during the rainy season, please do not forget to take an umbrella along with you, as there are only very few roofed areas to protect you from the rain. Will I go there again?, Of course, I will. Here are a couple of photographs I captured there using my canon 550d, tokina wide angle lens, nd filter and tripod. Hope you will like my blog post and photographs.

Birds of kochi...photography at the container terminal road

The mangroves on the sides of the container terminal road is the habitat of several species of migratory birds round the year. They can be spotted before 11 a.m and after 5 p.m. If you like bird photography, do not miss out the mangroves in and around the adjacent islands of kochi city (varapuzha, devasampadam, kadamakudy, moolampally, kothad etc), which are rich in flora and fauna. There are public boats plying to these areas.  Hiring a taxi from the city is another option. There are bus services from the high court bus stand as well.
