A cold chocolate at Cocoacraft

If the yardstick of quality is measured in repeated visits by the customer, then the Cocoacraft chocolate factory tops the list for authentic chocolate products in Ernakulam. I am a frequent visitor to this place, ever since I accompanied my daughter to this place a couple of years back. Owned by Commander Kuruvilla, who successfully transformed  his passionate hobby of chocolate making into a successful business. We visited this place again today, and as usual I ordered my favorite cold chocolate along with some cookies.  Apart from the chocolate products, I love the ambiance of the place, and the enthusiasm of Mr.Kuruvilla. Every time I meet him, I learn something about chocolates and chocolate making. Superb. Love to go there again.

Here are some photographs of our visit.

Good Friday at the Infant Jesus Church, Ernakulam

We like to go to the Infant Jesus Church, Ernakulam for Easter English services and for Christmas. That is something we are dong for almost a decade now. Thanks to the parish priest who organizes everything with elegance and structure. The choir is excellent. Today also we went there to participate in the Good Friday ceremonies.

Wish you a very happy and prosperous Vishu

Vishu (Malayalam: വിഷു) is an important Kerala festival celebrated in the month of "Medam" and a Hindu festival in the Indian state of Kerala , usually in the second week of April in the Gregorian calendar.
Vishu is celebrated with much fanfare and vigour in all parts of Kerala. It is considered a festival of light and fireworks, and decorating lights and bursting of firecrackers (Vishupadakkam) is part of the celebration. Other elements of Vishu include buying of new clothes (Puthukodi) for the occasion, the tradition of giving money called Vishukkaineetam , and the Vishu feast or Sadya, which consist of equal proportions of salty, sweet, sour and bitter items. Feast items include Veppampoorasam,Mampazhappulissery, Vishu kanji and Vishu katta .
The most important event in Vishu is the Vishukkani, which literally means "the first thing seen on the day of Vishu after waking up". The Vishukkani consists of a ritual arrangement of auspicious articles intended to signify prosperity, including rice, fruits and vegetables, betel leaves, arecanut, metal mirror, yellow flowers called konna (Cassia fistula), holy texts and coins, usually in the prayer room of the house. This is arranged the night before Vishu and is the first sight seen on Vishu. On Vishu, devotees often visit temples like Sabarimala Ayyappan Temple or Guruvayur Sree Krishna temple to have a 'Vishukkani Kazhcha' (viewing) in the early hours of the day.
